East Africa has a young generation population of more than 60%. These staggering number can be powerful catalysts for positive change and contributors of innovative solutions for the region’s challenges. Rather their role seems idle and hence must be empowered and changed. DAD believes that young people should play a leading role in the in development, stabilization and betterment of the region by creating knowledgeable elite, skilled and socially aware active youth. Young people are willing and most capable of being stewards of a stronger region – one that includes and integrates all its demographics.

DAD Youth is East Africa Association for Research and Development’s youth platform and its mechanism to train, empower, encourage, involve, represent, reach out and support young people in the region. DAD Youth will create a forum led authentically by people from the region, and discusses the contemporary regional and youth issues.
DAD Youth Forum is the network of young people from the East Africa region gathered under the wing of the DAD Youth Forum. It is the platform that includes active young members representing the region’s different countries, mainly: Somali, Djibouti, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda and Tanzania. The forum seeks balance, understanding and agreement on the major interests and principles that will drive the betterment of the region and thereby consolidates hope for future generations.
